The students of Bangladesh University of Professionals have bagged the winning trophy of an inter-university branding competition titled ‘Teer BRANDrill 2017’.
The grand finale of the contest, organised by Dhaka University-based club, Voice of Business, was held at Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building, on DU campus on Sunday.
BUP’s Second String became the champion team while Forza from Institute of Business Administration, DU, and Crime Master Gogo from North South University became the first and second runner-up teams respectively at the competition.
Being selected from more than 200 teams at the preliminary level, a total of 50 teams from different universities took part in the second round of the competition.
Of them, 10 teams were selected to fight for the championship after participating in the second round of the competition.
The contestants in the grand finale presented their branding ideas through television commercials (TVCs).
The champion team of the contest was awarded a cash prize of Tk 1 lakh, while the first and second runners-up were awarded Tk 60,000 and TK 40,000 respectively.
The jury panel of grand finale comprised Dhaka University’s marketing department faculty Muhammad Ismail Hossain along with some corporate personalities.
Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, dean, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka was the chief guest of the grand finale of the event.
Mortuza Ahmed, president, Voice of business told Prothom Alo, “BRANDrill is a platform for the business students to develop their ideas.
“With this competition, VOB aims to accelerate the innovative branding ideas among the future leaders throughout the country,” he added.
