Half centuries from Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah led Bangladesh to 257 for 9 against New Zealand in Wednesday's tri-nation series game being played in Dublin.
Winning the toss, Kiwis skipper Tom Latham asked the Tigers to bat first and openers Tamim Iqbal and Soumya gave their team the perfect start.
When James Neesham removed Tamim with the left-handed batsman on 23, Bangladesh already had 72. Soumya (61) soon followed his opening partner, as did Sabbir Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan, who both fell cheaply, but skipper Mushfiq and Mahmudullah made sure the Tigers make a decent total.
However, both of them fell shortly after reaching fifties, Mushfiq making 55 and Mahmudullah 51.
Number seven batsman Mosaddek Hossain added a run-a-ball 41 to lead the Bangladesh side past 250.
