Shakib Al Hasan slammed his fifth Test century while skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and debutant Mosaddek Hossain also made fifties as Bangladesh took a 129-run lead on the third day of the Colombo Test.
The Tigers innings ended at 467 when Mosaddek was stumped off a Rangana Herath delivery. The debutant made 75 courtesy of seven fours and two sixes.
Earlier on Friday morning, Shakib and Mushfiq added 76 runs but the latter was bowled by Suranga Lakmal soon after he reached his fifty. Mushfiq made 52 thanks to six fours.
Shakib was a changed batsman, not repeating the previous day’s madness, and his ton will certainly prove to be significant. His 116-run innings was studded with 10 fours.
Mehedi Hasan Miraz also added 24 vital runs late in the game.
For Sri Lanka, skipper Herath and Lakshan Sandakan claimed four wickets each.
