Police on Saturday claiemd that they arrested an "mastermind" of Gulshan terror from Tangail district, reports UNB.
The arrestee was identified as Rajib Gandhi alias Jahangir Alam.
Manirul Islam, Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and chief of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit, claimed that a CTTC team conducted a drive in Tangail and arrested Gandhi in the dead of night.
Details of the drive will be disclosed at a press briefing later, Manirul added.
Twenty hostages, including 17 foreign nationals, were killed by militants at Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan area of the capital on 1 July last. Later on the following day, five of attackers and one suspected associate of the attackers were killed during a commando operation inside the cafe.
