Staff Correspondent | Update:

Anu MuhammadMember secretary of the National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources, Power and Ports professor Anu Muhammad on Saturday said as high as 99 per cent people of the country don’t want Rampal power plant near Sundarbans.

“As many as 99 per cent people will vote down the Rampal plant unless they are intimidated and harassed. The protest programme was organised in front of the National Museum at Shahbagh.

Speakers in the programme said a half-day hartal (shutdown) programme will be enforced on 26 January if the government doesn’t cancel construction of the Rampal plant by the time.
