Consequences of unplanned urbanisation and stresses of modern living have yielded more healthcare risks including economic shock for the poor and the middle classes.
In such a context, Healthy Bangladesh, a new civic platform, is going to be launched to promote solutions and empower drivers.
It is being launched on Saturday (13 May 2017) in Dhaka through a daylong programme beginning with ‘Clean-up of Bahadur Shah Public Park’ in Old Dhaka followed by a civic walk and signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dhaka South City Corporation in the morning.
As part of the programme, a policy dialogue on medical education and public launch of the platform will be held in the presence of the health minister. A cross-section of stakeholders will also gather at the LGED auditorium.
A pre-launch meeting of the organisers of Healthy Bangladesh was held at PPRC, the secretariat of the platform, on Thursday.
Chaired by the PPRC executive chairman, Hossain Zillur Rahman, also convener of the platform, the meeting finalised the events of the launching of the civil platform.
