Trump proposes 31% cut to environmental agency budget

US president Donald Trump on Thursday proposed in his first budget a 31 per cent cut in funds for the Environmental Protection Agency, the main office in charge of climate change issues.

Trump proposed slashing $2.6 billion from the EPA's budget, which would include eliminating 3,200 jobs, about a fifth of all positions.
