Doob

Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s latest directorial venture, Doob: No Bed of Roses, got a censor certificate from Bangladesh Film Censor Board (BFCB) on Tuesday.

The film is now scheduled to be released countrywide on 3 November.

Jaaz Multimedia owner Abdul Aziz confirmed the release date of Doob to Prothom Alo.

Censor board member Iftekhar Uddin Naushad said the film got the censor certificate after a long wait.

The film’s director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki has expressed his satisfaction after obtaining the certificate.

On Facebook, Farooki said, "OK. We also got the news like you did that ‘Doob’ is about to get clearance from the censor board. Hopefully, we’ll get the certificate soon. Your support for this long has kept our spirits high. Thank you all. Thanks to censor boards and related government officials as well.”

Farooki also said the only song of the film, ‘Aha Jibon’ by Chirkoot, will be released for the public in a day or two.

Abdul Aziz said, “We are thinking of releasing the movie in India and elsewhere around the world. We are really happy that the audience will have the chance to watch the movie at last.”

The movie faced much controversy after it surfaced that the film was based on the real life of writer Humayun Ahmed.

Irrfan plays the lead role in Doob: No Bed of Roses, a co-production of Jaaz Multimedia and India's Eskay Movies along with Irrfan's IK Company.

The film also stars Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Rokeya Prachy and another Indian actor Parno Mittra.

Doob has already been selected to compete in the 39th Moscow International Films Festival in Russia.
