‘UGC official killed to hide real perpetrator’

University Correspondent | Update:

There is no difference between question leak and theft or robbery. A nation can be crippled through this crime. The killing of University Grants Commission (UGC) official in Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) custody substantiate the question leak allegation.
Speakers came up with the remarks at a rally held on Friday at Shahbagh intersection in the capital by the medical college admission seekers who have been demanding cancellation of MBBS and BDS admission tests and retaking them.
The UGC official has been killed to hide the real criminals behind the leak of question papers of medical admission tests, said Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Zafrullah Chowdhury.
National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas, Mineral Resources, Power and Ports member secretary Professor Anu Muhammad also raised questions over the death of a UGC official, saying this proves that medical entrance test question papers were leaked really.
The UGC official was killed in a planned way to protect the masterminds behind the question paper leakage, Anu Mohammad said.
The medical admission seekers announced to submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday if their demand for cancellation of the results and retaking of the tests are not met by Saturday.
Apart from the students, their guardians, university teachers and noted citizens joined the rally.
They protesters will hold a cartoon exhibition and collect mass signatures at the Central Shaheed Minar in the city from 10:00am on Saturday.
Columnist Syed Abul Maksud Ahmed, Dr Foyzul Hakim Nur, Dhaka University teachers Professors Dr Giti Ara Nasreen, Samina Lutfa Nitra and Afroza Bulbul, and Ganajagaran Manch spokesman Imran H Sarkar were, among others, present at the rally.
